About the author
French by birth and upbringing and American by marriage, Elle Jauffret writes in both French and English. She is the author of Jimmy-the Wits, The Ghost of Sorrow, and the very popular “The Smithsonian Librafly”. She is a graduate of both the University of Sophia-Antipolis Law School (Nice, France) and the George Washington University Law School (Washington D.C., USA).
She was the chairperson of the Pediatric Literacy Program (Books4Kids) at the National Naval Medical Center (the President’s hospital), Bethesda, MD for two consecutive years and she is the initiator of the “First Breath, First Read” program that provides a new book to babies born in the hospital - as a first step into the world of literacy.
She is presently working on “Charlie’s Universe”, a middle-graders novel about astronomy.
She lives in California with her husband and children.

"Initiation 2 Animation"

Both educational and accessible, "How to create your own movie" begins with an introduction to the concepts of stop-motion animation, followed by a hand-on adventure of frame by frame animation!
This workshop will present the variety of techniques and the different steps of animation filmmaking. Participants will explore:
-Optical toys such as thaumatrope, zootrope, praxinoscope, and flip books
-Animation drawing
-Puppets and clay
-Sound effects
Each step also provides an opportunity for students to practice the new skills they have learned.

First : Prepare your workshop
Take a master sheet of paper : the color you want.
Take a pair of scissor, glue, pencil. Second : Think about your project. You have at our disposal :
Silhouettes of the Monuments of Paris in differents sizes
Sheets of paper in differents colors Third : Realize your own cutouts with a lot of creativity
You can use differents colors of paper, cut differents shapes and dispose the shapes as you want on the master sheet of paper.
You can take a silhouette, draw it on a color paper … glue directly or cut and glue
You can mix both.
